Gelish Aftercare

Although I provide aftercare advice with every service, sometimes the old noggin needs a bit of a jog (mine more frequently than others ;D) so if you have misplaced your aftercare sheet, remember it’s always here.

- Use cuticle oil regularly – rub it all around your cuticle and onto the nail itself even if you have nude, polished, acrylics or Gelish. Used twice daily (on your toes as well as fingers), this keeps your nails supple but strong and nourishes them.

- Wear rubber gloves when using cleaning products and washing up.  You should do this anyway even if you don’t have anyting on your nails, as chemicals are very harsh to the skin and that’s not good.

-  Do not bite or pick at your nails. In the unlikely event that your Gelish has peeled or chipped, please make an appointment to see me to fix it as soon as you can.  Peeling or picking Gelish from your nail will more than likely remove a couple of layers of nail with it too.

- Avoid intense heat for 24 hours after application, so don’t use a sauna or sunbed as it may cause heat spikes on your nails (not happened yet but fair warning!)

- Always wash your hands after applying sun cream. Some makes of sun cream contain ingredients which if left, will impair your Gelish colour possibly making it fade.

- Treat your nails like jewels, not tools and your gelish will still be as perfect three weeks later as it was the day you had it applied.

- Should any adverse reaction occur – itchiness, redness or soreness (it shouldn’t as it does not come into contact with your skin) then please contact me immediately.

So basically, treat your nails with respect (as you should anyway ;D and all the difference you will see in three weeks is the growth of your natural nail.
